Time Changer

(DVD)

The year is 1890 and Bible Professor Russell Carlisle has written a new manuscript. His book is about to receive an unanimous endorsement from the board members at Grace Bible Seminary until his colleague, Dr. Norris Anderson, has a "difficulty with something." Dr. Anderson believes what Carlisle has written could greatly affect future generations. Using a secret time machine, Anderson sends Carlisle over 100 years into the future, offering him a glimpse of where his beliefs will lead.

From Rich Christiano, the director of Time Changer and The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry, and featuring Christian singer Rebecca St. James in a supporting role, Unidentified is a thought provoking film that goes beyond the UFO debate and challenges viewers to consider life's most important question!

Comments from Dirk:

This is definately an all time favorite movie of mine! Time Changer very vividly demonstrates how Christ must be preeminent both in our teaching and in our lives.

Several years ago, I had an opportunity to be involved with a ministry that teaches character in work places and in communities. In order to enter these areas with the teaching of character, any references to Jesus had to be removed from the curriculum. I was excited about the opportunity to promote character with thousands, but struggled with the absence of Christ. It was then that I viewed Time Changer and was deeply convicted by the consequences of teaching character apart from the person of Christ.

Jesus is the standard for what is right and what is wrong in our lives! In fact, according to Hebrews 1:3, He is the exact representation of God for us (the Greek word for character). If we remove the standard, then character becomes defined by the prevailing waves of the times. If we remove Christ as the model for us to follow, we begin to chase after the imaginations of our own sinful hearts.

Time Changer does a wonderful job of communicating the natural and drastic consequences of trying to promote righteousness without the Person of Jesus Christ. Our family was strongly convicted both by the heart of Dr. Anderson as he warns his colleage and then in Professor Carlisle's gripping (but ignored) sermon to the modern day church.

We strongly recommend Time Changer for families and churches to view! It is startling to see the contrast from Professor Carlisle's 1890 experience to the shocking abuse of license in modern society! Time Changer does a good job of communicating that the answer to the wanton and excessive sin of society is not an external change of behaviour, but an internal transformation accomplished by Jesus Christ and by Christ alone.

In regards to younger viewers, there is a communication between two young ladies of their intentions to reject parental authority and indulge in alcoholic consumption. There also are mild indications of sin and rebellion as Mr. Carlisle discovers the current state of affairs. All in all, we felt that these depictions were not graffic or immediately harmful for younger viewers to see.
